The Academic Year Internship Program offers interns the opportunity to work on real projects, contribute to meaningful work, and build skills over two full semesters within a collaborative environment designed for learning and growth. Universal Television Entertainment is responsible for world-class television entertainment, programming and marketing content across Bravo, NBC, and Peacock, and producing over 3,000 hours of television annually through Universal Studio Group.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program (September 2026 through April 2027).
  • December 2026 graduates are not eligible for this Academic Year Internship Program.
  • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and must not require work visa sponsorship from NBCUniversal now or in the future to retain authorization to work in the United States.
  • Must be available to work 16-24 hours per week from September 21, 2026 – April 23, 2027.
  • Must be willing to work in New York, NY.
  • Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa (e.g. F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1) are not eligible to apply unless they will be able to change or adjust to another status that grants work authorization without NBCUniversal sponsorship.
  • Any candidate receiving an internship offer must complete I-9 form with Social Security number within 3 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
  • Previous public relations experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Familiarity with Muck Rack, Cision, and Google Alerts a plus, but not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience or familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite a plus (Premiere, Photoshop).
  • Familiarity with HTML & Web technologies.
  • Familiarity with content management systems or a willingness to learn.
  • Strong writing skills, with ability to write clean copy quickly and efficiently for short-form, digital and promotional content.
  • Experience creating content for various social media platforms.
  • Ability to multitask, highly organized, and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Support marketing teams in concepting, developing, and executing marketing campaigns for Bravo, including brand initiatives, experiential marketing programs, tentpole cultural events and activations, strategic partnerships, and E-commerce merchandising initiatives.
  • Monitor cultural trends on both a macro and micro level and conduct competitive research to inform marketing and promotional strategies.
  • Plan and schedule daily graphic logs on Bravo.
  • Pull data reports and enter various metadata into systems.
  • Work with the wider Multiplatform Team on any ad-hoc projects/assignments.
  • Assist with/create NBCU IP intelligence reports for entertainment marketing teams and stakeholders (search, social, AI, etc.).
  • Conduct keyword research for editorial team and other relevant teams.
  • Assist with bravotv.com homepage programming tasks.
  • Assist with other intelligence or performance reports and presentations.
  • Assist with Bravo Insider editorial and fan acquisition initiatives (creating blog posts, monitoring fan submission initiatives, etc.).
  • Assist with social/short form video cutting (Daily Dish Instagram, other SFV needs).
  • Support communications efforts by maintaining and updating press lists.
  • Prepare for press junkets.
  • Monitor press breaks and compile clip packets.
  • Research media outlets & contacts.
  • Compile coverage reports.
  • Draft tune-ins.
  • Assist with press releases and various writing assignments/research projects.
  • Help track big stories surrounding scripted series.
  • Research journalists, publications and trends.
  • Garner experience in PR-centric writing.
  • Attend team and series meetings.
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of publicity and insight into numerous strategies employed by the Entertainment PR team.
  • Efficiently and effectively prioritize, organize, and communicate.
  • Receive exposure to virtual press days/junkets, interviews, and events.
  • Support the NBC & Peacock Marketing brand team throughout strategy building and marketing campaigns for NBC Entertainment primetime and late-night programming.
  • Partake in weekly trainings, attend meetings and assist in daily tasks to understand brand’s role throughout a show’s lifecycle.
  • Work with The Tonight Show and Late Night with Seth Meyers teams to ensure show calendars are up to date, accurate and aligned with confirmed guest listings.
  • Organize and maintain guest images for each show, collaborating with talent teams and stakeholders to ensure consistent imagery across all channels.
  • Write original and accurate guest biographies for show talent using strong research skills and relevant SEO keywords.
  • Support the team in brainstorming and creating compilation content for The Tonight Show, Late Night with Seth Meyers and Saturday Night Live.
  • Create fan social sentiment/conversation reports the night after priority episode airings.
  • Approve and identify content for NBC Entertainment-owned channels’ YouTube Community Tabs and YouTube Shorts.
  • Identify trends on TikTok and ideate ways for NBC to participate in trending conversations.
  • Attend weekly social team and show specific meetings.
  • Perform social media marketing and competitive research as needed.
  • Manage digital and social sales campaign tracking.
