Universal Preschool Lead Teacher (GSRP)
About The Position
The Lansing School District is seeking passionate Pre-K teachers to ensure early childhood students receive world-class instruction in a safe and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will work to build inclusive, nurturing classrooms where students can collaborate towards common learning goals. Teachers will partner with other educators, parents, and students to deliver the best educational experience. This role requires meeting GSRP qualifications upon hire and demonstrating a passion for early childhood content, providing instruction in core subjects, using data to differentiate instruction, and building strong relationships with students and parents.
Requirements
- A valid Michigan teaching certificate and an Early Childhood Education (ZA) or Early Childhood-General and Special Education (ZS) endorsement, Birth-K, or Pk-3 endorsement; or A bachelor's degree in early childhood education or child development with a specialization in preschool teaching. The transcript will document a major, rather than a minor, in child development or early childhood education.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with early childhood students
- Previous teaching experience in an urban setting
- Training in CRPBIS, HighScope, other related instructional methodologies

Responsibilities
- Demonstrate passion for and expertise of early childhood content
- Provide world-class instruction in math, literacy, social studies, and science to early childhood students
- Use data to guide and effectively differentiate instruction
- Learn and grow by incorporating feedback from school leaders, colleagues, students, and professional development sessions
- Build relationships with students and parents to ensure a safe, welcoming, and engaging learning environment
- Other duties as assigned to best support the Lansing School District mission
