About The Position
The Lead Preschool Teacher (GSRP) position is responsible for providing excellent daily care, initiating ideas and activities, and collaborating with a team of educators. This role requires familiarity with Early Childhood Standards and Benchmarks, and involves supporting and engaging parents and families. The teacher will work under the direct supervision of the Preschool Director.
Requirements
- A valid Michigan teaching certificate and an Early Childhood Education (ZA) or Early Childhood-General and Special Education (ZS) endorsement, Birth-K, or PK-3 endorsement; or A bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or child development with a specialization in preschool teaching. The transcript will document a major, rather than a minor, in child development or early childhood education.
- Must be familiar with Early Childhood Standards and Benchmarks
- CPR certified
- Meet requirements for a background check and fingerprinting
- Experience working with early elementary age children in a preschool setting
- Experience working with emergent curriculum approaches
- Passionate about providing excellent daily care, initiating ideas and activities, and collaborating with a team of educators
- Comfortable supporting and engaging parents and families
- Skilled in communication, both written and verbal
- Must be flexible and willing to help out where needed
