About The Position

The Universal Banker provides timely and efficient completion of client transactions while maintaining accurate records and properly handling assigned funds. The role delivers high-quality service by identifying and understanding clients’ financial needs. The banker is cross-trained to support sales and service activities, with a particular focus on outbound calling and Integrated Relationship Management (IRM) activities.

The position offers an annual base salary of $45,760–$52,500, with additional incentive pay available. The posting notes that work on weekends and/or extended hours is required, and occasional travel and overnight stays may be included. The role may require travel to accommodate temporary staffing needs, including temporary assignment or location changes.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education.
• Two years of teller, cash handling, or client service experience.
• Six months of client relationship-building or sales experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including a desire to interact with clients and prospects.
• Ability to master the PC keyboard and software skills needed for branch automation.
• Ability to multitask under time constraints.
• Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products.
• Ability to travel as required to accommodate temporary staffing needs, including temporary assignment or location changes.
• Ability to work weekends and/or extended hours; occasional travel and overnight stays may be included.

Nice To Haves

• One year of client relationship-building or sales experience.
• Knowledge of advanced or complex branch transactions, risk management, and loss prevention.
• Experience sourcing and prospecting for new clients and building client relationships.
• General understanding of bank operations, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide a distinctive client experience through courteous conversations and standardized or complex transactions, uncovering client needs and seeking assistance for more complex transactions when necessary.
• Educate clients about digital and self-service solutions, including ATMs, online banking, and mobile banking.
• Support the team sales process through outbound client calls, checking for client offers, identifying needs or opportunities, fulfilling needs, or referring clients to appropriate branch team members or specialists.
• Apply Integrated Relationship Management (IRM) to deliver relevant Truist expertise and solutions for clients’ needs.
• Participate in Truist Retail Community Bank Leadership Routines.
• Advance individual and product knowledge by attending sales, service, and product knowledge meetings, training classes, and web-based learning.
• Follow internal controls, operational procedures, and risk management policies, and stay informed about policy and procedure changes.
• Serve as a secondary contact for new account openings and problem resolution, offer applicable products and services, and handle a proportionate volume of work based on branch demands.
