About The Position

The Universal Banker position is responsible for the timely and efficient completion of client transactions while maintaining accurate records and proper handling of all monies assigned. This role delivers superior quality service by identifying and understanding client financial needs. The Universal Banker is cross-trained to support sales and service activities, with a particular focus on assisting with outbound calling and supporting Integrated Relationship Management (IRM) activities. This is a regular, full-time position with a 1st shift work schedule, requiring English fluency. The role involves engaging clients with a distinctive experience, educating them on digital solutions, supporting the team's sales process through outbound calls, understanding IRM, participating in leadership routines, and committing to continuous learning of products and policies. The position also serves as a secondary contact for new account openings and problem resolution.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • Two years of teller or cash handling or client service experience
  • Six months of client relationship building or sales experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including a desire to interact with clients and prospects
  • Ability to master personal computer (PC) keyboard and software skills necessary for branch automation
  • Ability to multi-task under time constraints
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products
  • Ability to travel to accommodate temporary staffing needs as required to include temporary assignment or locale changes
  • Ability to work weekends and/or extended hours with occasional travel and overnights may be included

Nice To Haves

  • One year of client relationship building or sales experience
  • Knowledge of advanced or complex branch transactions, risk management and loss prevention
  • Experience with sourcing and prospecting for new clients and client relationship building
  • General understanding of bank operations, policies and procedures

Responsibilities

  • Provide a distinctive client experience by engaging clients, facilitating courteous conversation, conducting complex and standardized transactions, and uncovering client needs.
  • Educate clients on digital, self-service solutions including ATMs, Online and Mobile banking.
  • Support team sales process by participating in client outreach through outbound calls, checking for client offers, and identifying client needs or opportunities.
  • Understand the importance of Integrated Relationship Management (IRM) to seamlessly deliver expertise and solutions for clients’ unique needs.
  • Participate fully in all components of the established Truist Retail Community Bank Leadership Routines.
  • Commit to advancing individual and product knowledge by attending sales, service, and product knowledge meetings and all applicable training classes and web-based learning.
  • Adhere to internal controls, operational procedures, and risk management policies, staying informed of all changes in policies and procedures.
  • Serve as secondary contact for new account openings and problem resolution, offering applicable products and services to clients and prospects.
  • Handles proportionate volume of work based on branch demands.
