Under general supervision of a front-line supervisor, this position serves as a single point of contact for bank customers providing services such as receipt and payment of cash; opening and closing personal accounts, safe deposit boxes and debit and card cards; answering inquiries; processing checks and money orders; and referring customers for appropriate services. This role promotes bank products by answering inquiries, informing customers of new services and product promotions, ascertaining customers' needs, and directing customers to a customer service representative. The Universal Banker also provides effective customer service by answering customer questions and investigating and correcting errors independently or by consulting with a supervisor. They reconcile cash drawers, maintain an accurate supply of cash and coin, and serve at the Welcome Desk to greet customers, open safe deposit boxes, and utilize software to alert staff of customers. This position complies with bank operations and security policies, develops relationships with customers, and presents the bank's product line-up, cross-selling where appropriate. They open and maintain personal accounts and corresponding products and services, and develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of current bank products, services, policies, procedures, and regulations. Flexibility for changing schedules is also a key aspect of this role.
