About The Position

The Universal Banker is an entry-level position that assists with sales, products, and service activities in coordination with the customer service team. The role focuses on building customer relationships and loyalty while helping increase sales to individual consumer clients. The position is based at Citi’s 3rd/64th Branch in New York, New York, and is full time. Other job-related duties may be assigned as required.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Previous retail banking or similar experience required.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basic account opening for existing customers.
• Provide service to internal and external customers to resolve account service issues.
• Execute financial transactions in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
• Refer opportunities to segment partners when appropriate.
• Create sales opportunities through service transactions and promptly and effectively resolve customer complaints and issues.
• Support branch sales and service activities by participating in seminars, micromarketing events, promotional campaigns, and product initiatives.
• Follow operational controls, including legal, corporate, and regulatory procedures, to protect customer and bank assets.
• Assess risk appropriately in business decisions, protect the firm’s reputation and assets, comply with applicable laws and policies, exercise sound ethical judgment, and transparently escalate, manage, and report control issues.
