This role involves transporting employees, students, and visitors to and from MUSC and within the assigned operational area. The employee will be responsible for safely and efficiently boarding and discharging passengers, monitoring vehicle performance, and addressing any immediate operational issues. Additionally, the position includes performing other duties as assigned, such as substituting for other drivers, providing quick rides, and undertaking day trips. A significant part of the role involves vehicle maintenance, including fueling, cleaning (mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, washing), and conducting pre/post-vehicle inspections with necessary fluid checks, all performed in various weather conditions consistent with safety protocols. The position also requires maintaining administrative and operational logs, such as inspection forms, mileage logs, passenger counts, and accident/incident reports, as well as timely communication with passengers regarding schedules and services and maintaining thorough work records.
