About The Position

Barnes Jewish Hospital is seeking a Unit Secretary to work in Labor and Delivery. Ideal applicants will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and possess great customer service skills. This is a Full-Time position with a shift of 3x12s, working the night shift from 7p to 7:00a, including a 3rd weekend rotation and holiday rotation. The Labor and Delivery department at Barnes-Jewish Hospital is a 23-bed unit with spacious labor, delivery, and recovery suites, contributing to a soothing, safe, and exceptional patient experience. Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. Its staff includes full-time academic faculty and community physicians of Washington University School of Medicine, supported by residents, interns, fellows, and other medical professionals. Responsibilities

• Performs clerical duties supporting the operations of the patient care team.
• Supports the clinical operations by providing customer service and clerical support.
• Transcribes physician orders as appropriate with close attention to detail.
• Notifies appropriate nurse when STAT orders are written or when coordinating tests and procedures.
• Communicates new orders to the healthcare team as appropriate.
