About The Position

The Unit Secretary provides clerical and coordination support to a nursing unit at Encompass Health, helping promote efficient operations and safe, high-quality patient care. Nice To Haves

• Experience reading and transcribing medical orders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete and accurate patient medical records using the appropriate labeling system.
• Accurately and efficiently transcribe medical orders and distribute them to other disciplines as needed.
• Assist patients, families, physicians, and visitors at the nursing station.
• Coordinate unit operations to optimize the delivery of safe patient care.
• Schedule tests, appointments, and transportation in a timely manner.
• Direct inquiries to the appropriate person for resolution.
