About The Position
Monterey Park Hospital, a 101-acute care facility located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, is seeking a Unit Secretary for our Med/Surg Unit. This is a per diem, 10-hour day shift position reporting to the Director of Med/Surg.
Requirements
- High school or equivalent preferred
- One year of unit secretary experience in an acute care hospital preferred
- Current BLS required from the American Heart Association
Responsibilities
- Accurate transcribing of physician orders
- Maintain patient charts and medical records
- Provides general clerical duties for the units such as ordering supplies, filing, copying, and submitting maintenance requests
- Receives documents and properly follows through with telephone inquiries
- Assists with monitoring all persons entering the unit
- Provides administrative support to the nurses and physicians and effectively interacts with all persons entering the unit
- May occasionally float to various nursing departments
