Unit Secretary - Emergency (FT Nights)
About The Position
Barnes Jewish Hospital is seeking a Unit Secretary to work overnights in our emergency department! This role supports the clinical operations by providing customer service and clerical support. The Emergency Department at Barnes-Jewish Hospital is an opportunity to work in a dynamic, urban setting where the arrival of each new second brings with it an opportunity to serve a melting pot of a community with a wide array of medical needs. We specialize in a rapid assessment and treatment of patients when every second counts, particularly during the initial phase of acute illness and trauma. The Barnes-Jewish Hospital Emergency Department is a Level I Trauma facility and a leader in disaster preparedness for the St. Louis region.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- No Experience
- No Experience (Supervisor Experience)
Responsibilities
- Supports the clinical operations by providing customer service and clerical support.
- Transcribes physician orders as appropriate with close attention to detail.
- Notifies appropriate nurse when STAT orders are written or when coordinating tests and procedures.
- Communicates new orders to the healthcare team as appropriate.
