This role involves meeting federal and state regulatory guidelines, monitoring staffing to ensure proper staff-to-child ratios, and developing effective working relationships with personnel on other shifts to promote continuity of care. The Unit Manager will model appropriate behaviors and social skills, plan and supervise activities for children, and take actions to promote positive interaction among them. This position also requires providing therapeutic crisis intervention when appropriate, identifying and reporting maintenance needs, and participating in scheduled meetings. Responsibilities include updating and maintaining child records, scheduling transportation for children, monitoring and delegating daily operations, and maintaining all required documentation. The role also involves implementing safety protocols, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to professional and ethical standards. Other duties include supervising direct care staff, scheduling appointments for children, adhering to medical/clinical staff instructions, monitoring child behavior during off-campus activities, documenting incidents and progress, escorting children, traversing the physical plant, and meeting deadlines.
