About The Position

The Unit Manager, a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), will oversee the day-to-day activities of the Rehabilitation Unit at Leavitt Family Jewish Home. This role involves managing nurses and certified nursing assistants to ensure high-quality resident care, assuming full responsibility for residents’ nursing care, monitoring conditions, following physician orders, and applying recognized nursing techniques and standards. The Unit Manager will also recognize and report changes in residents’ conditions, initiate or assist with interventions, and maintain a safe, supportive environment. Additionally, they will instruct nursing staff on policies and procedures, ensuring adherence to administrative and clinical standards, and monitor trends in nursing practices to implement improvements.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
  • Active, unencumbered Massachusetts RN license
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and following instructions in English
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain regulatory compliance with state and federal guidelines
  • Ability to foster positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and the medical team, and represent the organization professionally

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred in a Long Term Care setting, with strong clinical assessment skills

Responsibilities
