About The Position

Elderwood is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Unit Manager to lead a nursing unit in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility. This hands-on leadership role is suited to an RN with long-term care experience who can guide staff at varying experience levels and strengthen consistency, accountability, and quality of care. The Unit Manager provides 24-hour oversight of the assigned unit and works primarily on a generally day-shift schedule, with flexibility based on facility and unit needs. The role includes supervising and developing nursing staff, with particular focus on supporting CNAs; overseeing resident care plans and clinical indicators; maintaining documentation, infection-control, and regulatory standards; communicating with families and providers; and managing staffing and scheduling needs. The Unit Manager works with facility leaders and has access to clinical guidance and resources from Elderwood Administrative Services, including a Regional Nurse Consultant and organization-wide clinical leadership. Elderwood describes this position as an opportunity to strengthen team performance, improve clinical consistency and resident outcomes, and contribute to facility culture. Nurses who demonstrate leadership potential and interest in future Director of Nursing roles may be considered for advanced development experiences, including Widener University’s 12-week Director of Nursing Leadership Academy.
