About The Position
The Unit Helper works under the direction of the unit manager or charge nurse. This position involves performing various duties to ensure a safe, pleasant, and clean environment for residents.
Requirements
- Good at taking direction and following through with required tasks
- Will be trained for the tasks outlined
Nice To Haves
- Experience with working with the elderly is preferred
Responsibilities
- Makes unoccupied beds
- Turns down and gets pads for unoccupied beds
- Straightens out resident rooms to meet environmental standards
- Passes fresh water in carafes
- Pours ice water prior to meals
- Transports residents to Activities, Dining Room, Podiatrist, Dentist, etc.
- Passes and prepares meal trays
- Records Intake & Output (I&O) and percent of meal consumed
- Answers call bells as directed
- Provides a safe, pleasant and clean environment for the residents at mealtime
- Cleans and washes wheelchairs as directed
