Unit Helper / Nursing Assistant (CNA) Trainee Class
About The Position
This is an entry-level position for individuals looking to become a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). The role involves paid training to earn a CNA certification, with a class schedule of 3-4 days per week from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Trainees will gain hands-on experience in a supportive learning environment under the guidance of experienced healthcare professionals. The position offers the opportunity to earn while learning, attending class, lab instruction, and clinical experiences to prepare for the CNA exam. The goal is to provide meaningful care to residents and their families, with opportunities for career growth.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Interest in the nursing needs of the aged and the chronically ill, with the ability to work with both
- Passion for healthcare and a desire to learn and grow in a Long-Term Care setting
- Ability and commitment to maintain reliable attendance and meet scheduling requirements
- Compassionate and empathetic nature
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities
- Engage in training programs to gain knowledge of healthcare protocols and procedures
- Learn and apply fundamental nursing skills under supervision
- Assist nursing staff in providing daily care to residents
- Support residents with activities of daily living, including bathing and grooming
- Collaborate with the care team to ensure the well-being of residents
