About The Position

Under general supervision, this role performs customer service, receptionist, and clerical/secretarial activities following established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines. The Unit Customer Service Rep serves as a communication resource for patients, visitors, family, and health care team members, with the ability to triage communication priorities. Responsibilities include answering the telephone and patient intercom system, alerting nursing staff to patient and family concerns, ordering supplies, stocking items, and maintaining unit neatness and organization. This role is also responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of customer service excellence.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing required.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a communication resource for patients, visitors, family, and health care team members with the ability to triage communication priorities.
  • Answers the telephone and patient intercom system.
  • Alerts nursing staff to patient and family concerns and other calls.
  • Orders supplies, and stock items as required.
