Greets and registers critical and trauma patients. Answers telephone calls, schedules appointments, and facilitates unit communication. Coordinates admissions paperwork and communications, contacts on-call providers, and pulls and files medical charts when indicated. Provides excellent customer service to patients and families by applying best practices and standard operating procedures. Obtains accurate patient information on registrations. Establishes and maintains open communication with all departments and interacts with clinical staff in those areas. Pages Providers as needed in the ED and follow ups to assure callers are connected. Assists in the shadowing and precepting of new employees. Orders supplies and assures sufficient stock for unit needs. Answers internal and external phone calls, assuring accurate response and follow up with each call. Ability to multi-task within a stressful environment.
