About The Position

Greets and registers critical and trauma patients. Answers telephone calls, schedules appointments, and facilitates unit communication. Coordinates admissions paperwork and communications, contacts on-call providers, and pulls and files medical charts when indicated. Provides excellent customer service to patients and families by applying best practices and standard operating procedures. Registers patients in critical care and trauma situations. Obtains accurate patient information on registrations. Establishes and maintains open communication with all departments and interacts with clinical staff in those areas. Pages Providers as needed in the ED and follows up to assure callers are connected. Assists in the shadowing and precepting of new employees. Orders supplies and assures sufficient stock for unit needs. Answers internal and external phone calls, assuring accurate response and follow-up with each call. Requirements

  • High school graduate.
  • Demonstrated computer skills required with the ability to navigate most current technology systems.
  • Strong administrative skills required.
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multi-task within a stressful environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree preferred.
  • One year of previous health care experience preferred.

Benefits

  • Base pay $20.50/hr plus applicable shift differentials.
  • Not eligible for benefits.
