The Antepartum unit is seeking a medical professional to work as a Unit Coordinator. This role requires availability for Day, Evening, and Night shifts, with rotating weekend and holiday coverage. The Unit Coordinator functions as the liaison between the patient, visitors, and clinicians, providing essential administrative support to unit-based and hospital-wide staff. The position involves organizing priorities, managing confidential patient information, and coordinating daily patient flow, including admissions, discharges, and transfers. The role also requires providing outstanding service in every customer interaction. Actual job duties may vary by department. The Unit Coordinator performs clerical duties to assist in the general administration of the floor or unit, greets and interacts professionally with patients, families, visitors, and coworkers, and manages information at the central nursing station. Responsibilities include scheduling consultations, tests, procedures, and patient transport, entering accurate and timely information into the electronic medical record, and contacting ancillary service departments for equipment, services, and supplies. The role may also involve assisting the manager with payroll or scheduling duties, or supervising unit secretaries, depending on the department. The Unit Coordinator must comply with all policies and standards.
