About The Position

Riverside Community Care is seeking energetic, passionate, confident, and skilled workers for the Neponset River House in Norwood. This role is within a Clubhouse environment, offering a vibrant, fun, and challenging setting. The Unit Coordinator/Generalist will work one-on-one and in groups, motivating members in activities such as social and event planning, fundraising, health and wellness activities, food services, advocacy, and other manual and clerical responsibilities. The position requires a passion for teaching, organizing, and planning. The Unit Coordinator will engage Clubhouse members in the work of the Clubhouse, assist them in navigating employment, education, and community resources, and help them find their voice. This role involves creating and organizing evening, weekend, holiday, and special events to connect with the community, and assisting members in adopting healthier lifestyles through exercise opportunities and Health & Wellness educational forums. The program aims to promote a good health program for all members.

Requirements

  • Strong computer skills
  • Driver's license required
  • An interest in food, health, nutrition

Nice To Haves

  • BA/BS and/or relevant experience preferred
  • Clubhouse experience, community based programs, or Recovery Learning Community a plus
  • Individuals with a lived experience of mental health challenges are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Engaging Clubhouse members in the work of the Clubhouse.
  • Working side-by-side with members to assist with navigating employment, education, community resources and finding a voice.
  • Creating and organizing evening, weekend, holiday, and special events as a way to connect with the community.
  • Assisting members live a healthier lifestyle through organizing exercise opportunities, and Heath & Wellness educational forums.
  • Assisting in other unit activities related to food services, advocacy activities, and other manual and clerical responsibilities.
