About The Position

The Unit Coordinator/Educator is accountable and responsible for assisting the Managers with day to­ day operations of the units and providing staff educatjon. This includes demonstrating Jeadersnip skills, managing nursing practice, and/or operational issues. These activities should ensure appropriate outcomes and efficient, effective team processes, guiding activities of the area, including but not limited to the staff, environment, and patients. The Unit Coordinator /Educator will assist with direct patient care as directed or scheduled by the Managers.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program with a minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Current MS RN license, temporary permit (valid for 90 days) or compact state license
  • Three (3) years in the related clinical area or specified operational experience
  • Competency in team building skills with accountability to the teams.
  • Must be able to prompt change by assuming leadership roles in interdisciplinary teams and supporting the growth and development of team members.
  • Must be able to communicate and collaborate with physicians, staff, and community to meet the patient needs for the area of management.
  • Must have good written communication skills; be fair and rational and able to function in a clinical capacity.
  • Must be able to make decisions when need, have integrity, be responsible and dependable.

  • Contributes to the growth of hospital personnel, students, and other health team members. (1,4,5,)
  • Facilitates the development and implementation of team processes. (1,3,4)
  • Practices within legal, ethical and professional boundaries. (1,4,5)
  • Participates as a member of the team to achieve business goals, quality outcomes and customer satisfaction. (1,5)
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
