Provides clerical support for the patient care team. This role involves processing medical records, maintaining inventory of stock forms and office supplies, performing data entry of patient information, answering phones, receiving and directing messages and visitors, monitoring the facility security system and responding appropriately, and assisting patient care staff as needed, including answering call lights. The Unit Clerk may also assist in scheduling staff as requested. All interactions with patients, family members, physicians, referral sources, visitors, and co-workers must be courteous, respectful, cooperative, and professional to promote an atmosphere of teamwork and positive relations.
