About The Position
Avita Health System is seeking a dedicated Unit Clerk/Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join the Emergency Department at their Bucyrus location. This role involves meeting the communication needs of patients, families, and staff, preparing and compiling records, initiating directions from physicians and nursing staff, and providing basic nursing care to Emergency Department patients. The position also requires maintaining compliance with regulatory agency requirements, nursing policies, facility procedures, and standards.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Current BLS certification or within 30 days of hire date.
Nice To Haves
- STNA Certification or Paramedic or EMS Certification.
Responsibilities
- Meets the communication needs of the patient, family and staff.
- Prepares and compiles records in the facility.
- Initiates directions from physician and nursing staff.
- Provides basic nursing care to Emergency Department patients.
- Maintains regulatory agency requirements, nursing and facility policies and procedures and standards.
