Tempur Sealy International is the world’s largest bedding manufacturer, operating 33 state-of-the-art North American facilities, 38 international manufacturing plants, and over 750 company-owned stores globally. The Unit Builder position involves working in teams of two to lift encased coil spring mattress assemblies, weighing up to 50 pounds or more, from a conveyor and place them onto a waist-high table. Pre-cut semi-rigid foam pieces are then inserted into the perimeter of the spring assembly and hot glued together. This process is repeated approximately 30 times per hour for a two-person team. The role may also include other duties as assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

Must be able to lift 50 pounds with and without help
Ability to work at a fast pace
Must be team oriented
Good upper body strength to lift components of mattress
Ability to stand / walk for entire shift
Must be able to work flexible hours, including mandatory overtime on occasion

Responsibilities

Lift an encased coil spring mattress assembly (up to 50 pounds or more) from the conveyor and place it onto the waist high table
Insert pre-cut semi-rigid foam pieces into the perimeter of the spring assembly
Hot glue the foam pieces together
Perform other duties, as required by supervisor
