Nippon Electric Glass (NEG) is currently interviewing for full-time Production positions at its fiber glass manufacturing facility in Shelby NC. (80 Hours) after 12 months and the start of the next calendar year. Production operations run 24 hr./day – 7 days/wk. – 365 days/yr. with 12 hour rotating shifts (4 on / 4 off). Entry Level Production Positions will include direct contact with fiber glass material, physical movement including lifting, bending, squatting, and standing. Production workers’ salary is between $24.39 and $27.43 per hr. depending on the occupation. THIS IS TOP PAY FOR ENTRY LEVEL JOBS---PAY PROGRESSION WILL BE $1.00/hr. LESS AND MOVED TO TOP PAY WHEN EMPLOYEES ARE A QUALIFIED OPERATOR (30-90 DAYS AVERAGE) Opportunities to move to Core Jobs with higher pay are available & encouraged. Wound Fiber Packer – $24.39 Wound Fiber Sliver – $25.20 Wound Fiber Operator – $25.90 W/C Chopper Operator -- $25.90 D/C Chopper Operator -- $27.43 Effective August 1, 2025, NEG no longer requires applicants to possess a High School Diploma or equivalent to be considered for employment. High School Diploma, GED or CRC Certification is preferred--but not required. Although an applicant may possess a HS diploma, they are encouraged to attain a Career Readiness Certificate, which is an assessment-based credential that gives employers and career seekers a uniform measure of key workplace skills.
