Service Center Union Warehouse Material Handler
About The Position
As a Union Warehouse Material Handler, you will ensure products get where they need to be by receiving, storing, selecting, packing, and shipping warehouse inventory. The warehouse uses a Warehouse Management System, so technology is required to perform the job. The role requires physical work in a warehouse environment, including lifting various loads, cutting wire, climbing ladders, and staying on the move in temperatures that vary by location. Applicants must have no fear of heights and pass pre-employment physical testing. Steel-toed boots are required. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The expected pay rate is $23.50 per hour.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- No fear of heights.
- Able to perform warehouse physical requirements, including lifting various loads, cutting wire, climbing ladders, and staying on the move in varying temperatures; must pass pre-employment physical testing.
- Good attendance and work ethic.
- Steel-toed boots are required.
Nice To Haves
- Two or more years of experience preferred.
- Prior large warehouse experience using a Warehouse Management System preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and push carts.
- Receive and store incoming material according to Warehouse Management System processes.
- Select, pack, and palletize shipments.
- Sort and pack less-than-truckload shipments.
- Conduct cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean warehouse, follow safety procedures, and perform daily safety inspections.
