About The Position

JLL is seeking a licensed Stationary Engineer for their facilities team in Kansas City, KS. This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across all systems in an industrial facility. The ideal candidate will have a stationary engineers license and a strong technical background in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting, with multi-skilled capabilities in other areas. A significant amount of "wrench time" is expected, and the candidate must be available on-call for emergencies. The work environment can be noisy, hot, and stressful with frequent interruptions. Requirements

  • Stationary engineers license
  • Experience maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing facility equipment on all systems in an industrial facility
  • Technical expertise in electrical maintenance & troubleshooting
  • Multi-skilled in other areas to successfully complete daily/weekly work assignments
  • Available "on call" after hours for emergencies
  • Ability to frequently walk up and down stairs for inspections and emergency procedure practice or implementation
  • Capable and qualified to perform all tasks safely, properly, and independently as required to operate and maintain Cleaver Brooks natural gas fired boilers and steam systems
  • Hold a Journeyman rating
  • 5 years of experience in a heavy industrial setting
  • Hold a Missouri Operating Engineer Certificate
  • Hold a Universal CFC Certificate
  • Proficient with information systems (email, automated building systems, operator control panels etc.)
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventive maintenance on all base building and critical system equipment.
  • Installs and repairs plumbing/piping/tubing; wire single and three phase motors; run conduit; pull wiring to machinery, motors, operating parts, etc.; install and rebuild pumps and motors; install and rebuild air compressors; heat exchangers; replace bearings in all types of motors; replace seals on pumps; install and repair piping, valves, filters, hot water systems and associated controls; assist other mechanics and operators with major repairs and maintenance of building and equipment.
  • Installs, repairs, and maintains electrical controls, switching and motor controls.
  • Monitors operation and maintains refrigeration, chilled water and air conditioning equipment; boilers, heating, ventilating and hot water equipment; pumps, valves, piping and filters; other mechanical and electrical equipment; recording readings as necessary to assure proper operation of equipment; responsible for reporting any problems/malfunctions.
  • Must be able to identify and prioritize major and critical alarms and must respond to them by taking the necessary measures, as well as to document these measures.
  • Analyses of water samples taken from our equipment and from the utilities.
  • Check and monitor the emergency generators during power outages.
  • Perform boiler start and shut down, making adjustments to meet operating demand or condition, operating building heat exchangers, troubleshooting alarms/warnings/trips/non-starts/abnormalities/out of specs conditions, monitoring/record parameters alarms, and water sampling and steam/water treatment, performing cross-tying of cooling towers, equipment start, shut down, mothball, operating and validating.
