About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. As a Uniformed Security Officer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people worldwide. Here, you will make an impact by monitoring, operating, interpreting and interacting with multiple technical tools to detect threats and risks, managing incidents and emergency situations, performing campus and building security patrols, completing incident and activity reports, monitoring global geopolitical events, and maintaining awareness of issues that could affect business operations or the security of personnel and assets. You will also assist in maintaining, populating, and evaluating databases and sources, complete training for basic First Aid/CPR and AED, provide escorts to employees and visitors as necessary, and carry out all job duties and responsibilities in compliance with corporate policies and departmental procedures and standards. Responsibilities of this position include that corporate policies, procedures and security standards are complied with while performing assigned duties. Safety is a core value at 3M. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Two (2) years of experience in a security-related role in a private, public government or military environment
  • Current, valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

  • Experience in a GSOC environment

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, operate, interpret and interact with multiple technical tools to detect threats and risks
  • Manage incidents and emergency situations, including the execution of procedures, coordination of resources, and on-scene response
  • Perform campus and building security patrols
  • Complete incident and activity reports in a clear and concise manner
  • Monitor global geopolitical events that may impact international travel, company events, and/or operations, and provide periodic and timely reporting
  • Maintain awareness of issues that could affect business operations or the security of personnel and assets, including terrorism, violent crime, natural disasters, travel issues, criminal trends, civil unrest, and workplace violence
  • Assist in maintaining, populating, and evaluating databases and sources
  • Complete training for basic First Aid/CPR and AED
  • Provide escorts to employees and visitors as necessary
  • Carry out all job duties and responsibilities in compliance with corporate policies and departmental procedures and standards
  • Perform other related duties as required
