About The Position

This role involves assisting those in need by introducing them to established programs and agencies that can help meet their needs. The goal is to foster mutual respect and reduce the public nuisance perception of homelessness. The position requires developing constructive working relationships with city, county, and state agencies that serve the homeless and needy community, striving for a cooperative effort to positively impact homelessness in the district. Responsibilities include patrolling the district on bike or foot to locate and reach out to those in need, directing individuals to services or more suitable locations, observing and reporting unwanted behaviors or criminal activity to Safety Ambassadors via two-way radios, and actively acknowledging pedestrians with a friendly greeting or providing directions and information to visitors. The role also involves creating detailed and accurate written incident reports and providing accurate descriptions of persons, vehicles, and other identifiers to law enforcement and others when needed. Maintaining a helpful, positive, and professional environment in full compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and overall Block by Block standards of expected professionalism is essential. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to articulate an accurate description of persons, vehicles, and other similar identifiers
  • Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations
  • Nevada Driver's License Required with Clean Driving record
  • Ability to work outdoors in ALL weather conditions
  • Hospitality skills are required
