About The Position
American Freedom Insurance Company (AFIC) is expanding and seeking an Underwriting Team Lead to provide day-to-day guidance and support to the underwriting team. This role focuses on ensuring quality, efficiency, and exceptional customer service within the nonstandard auto insurance market. The company is an "A+" Superior-rated company by A.M. Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- High degree of professionalism, dependability, and accountability
Nice To Haves
- Previous insurance underwriting experience
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience
- Bilingual Spanish/English
- Bachelor's degree
Responsibilities
- Review work for accuracy and ensure underwriting guidelines are consistently followed
- Monitor workflows and help prioritize daily assignments to meet service levels
- Collaborate with management to improve processes and increase operational efficiency
- Communicate professionally with agents, internal departments, and leadership
- Perform quality control reviews and resolve underwriting issues
- Utilize Microsoft Excel to track production, analyze data, and prepare reports
- Maintain accurate records while demonstrating exceptional attention to detail
