Underwriting Team Lead, Lexington Property
About The Position
The Underwriting Team Lead will demonstrate high technical proficiency and underwriting expertise in Wholesale Property. The role combines marketing and sales skills to achieve production underwriting goals while maintaining budgeted loss and expense ratios. The lead will guide an underwriting team in developing broker and portfolio strategies and independently manage a profitable book of new and renewal business. The position also involves taking on business-related special projects, mentoring new professionals, collaborating across the Zone and business divisions, and working with regional Property peers to help build a nationally renowned Lexington team and culture.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in Commercial Property E&S underwriting.
- Ability to underwrite property risks across the spectrum of E&S Property business while maintaining a balanced portfolio across primary and excess placements.
- Ability to underwrite 100%, primary/shared, layered, and excess structures.
- Strong understanding of current market conditions.
- Ability to make decisions quickly, turn around quotes, and manage multiple prospects at one time.
- High levels of technical proficiency and underwriting acumen in Wholesale Property.
- Marketing and sales skills to meet production underwriting goals while maintaining budgeted loss and expense ratios.
