About The Position

Zurich North America is seeking an experienced Market Facing Property & Casualty Underwriter for its Middle Market operation. This role can be based in Maitland, FL, or be virtual within the State of Florida. The successful candidate will act as a customer advocate, understanding unique risks and providing optimal Property & Casualty insurance solutions. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining relationships with brokers and customers, leveraging underwriting expertise for risk assessment, exposure evaluation, and pricing to manage a profitable book of business. The role involves collaboration with various internal departments such as claims, finance, risk engineering, and actuarial. The position offers the opportunity to utilize technical underwriting, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to foster relationships with distribution partners in an assigned territory. The role will be filled at either the Underwriting Specialist or Executive Underwriter level, determined by the selected applicant's experience and qualifications.

Requirements

Underwriting Specialist Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
Underwriting Specialist Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
Underwriting Specialist Required Qualifications: Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 1 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
Underwriting Specialist Required Qualifications: Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 4 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
Underwriting Specialist Required Qualifications: Knowledge of line/s of business and the legal and regulatory guidelines.
Underwriting Specialist Required Qualifications: Knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
Underwriting Specialist Required Qualifications: Experience with Microsoft Office.
Executive Underwriter Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
Executive Underwriter Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
Executive Underwriter Required Qualifications: Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area.
Executive Underwriter Required Qualifications: Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area.
Executive Underwriter Required Qualifications: Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Executive Underwriter Required Qualifications: Experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business.
Executive Underwriter Required Qualifications: Experience working in a team environment.
