The Underwriting Services Analyst is responsible for supporting the Treaty Underwriting department with the daily workflow and administrative functions. Requirements

  • Knowledge of insurance/reinsurance terminology.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Maintain confidentiality of company-sensitive data.

  • Comprehension of underwriting requirements, rating and pricing, and processing requests for program changes.
  • Takes initiative, detail oriented, organized, ability to work independently.
  • Ability to prioritize workloads and meet deadlines with a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook and various internal systems.
  • Keep Manager informed of activities and situations which will impact the achievement of corporate and department goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Enter new and renewal treaty submissions into applicable systems.
  • Assist in submission clearance and recording of management information in the department’s information systems.
  • Process endorsements and new/renewal treaty reinsurance programs.
  • Process broker of record changes.
  • Update Ceding Company and Broker information in the Phoenix system (as needed).
  • Process final premium adjustments.
  • Work closely with the Accounting team to analyze and resolve discrepancies and open cash application.
  • Extract management reports from Phoenix and assist in preparing data for analysis and management reporting.
  • Prepare various Excel spreadsheets utilized in Treaty management.
  • Act as key contacts for internal and external audit questions.
  • Assist underwriters as requested/needed.
  • Handle special projects as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as required to achieve the goals and objectives of the company and department.
