Underwriting Operations Specialist
About The Position
The Underwriting Operations Specialist is a service-oriented member of AmCom Insurance Services’ production underwriting team. The role owns customer service requests, identifies solutions, and completes individual process tasks across the insurance policy lifecycle while meeting customer service standards. The position focuses on risk-bearing transactions and improving the production underwriting team’s functionality. It may suit candidates with experience as assistant underwriters, account managers, raters, or underwriters on the carrier, MGA, or agent side. The role may also offer opportunities for personal and career development aligned with an employee’s capabilities and growth objectives across underwriting, sales, marketing, data analytics, or operations management.

Responsibilities
- Support the production underwriting team with insurance policy lifecycle tasks tied to agent service.
- Rate and execute premium-bearing exposure change endorsements.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and customer service.
- Develop creative solutions to improve underwriting and operational efficiency.
- Become a power user of online policy management platforms and develop new operational procedures.
- Identify and resolve billing and policy issues for agent partners.
- Identify and resolve issues within the insurance policy lifecycle.
- Communicate clearly and amicably with internal and external teams.
- Engage with leadership to solve problems.
- Provide management information to production underwriters.
- Assist in developing training materials.
