About The Position

National Indemnity Company offers a Cooperative Education (Co-Op) Program designed for students to apply classroom knowledge in a professional setting, building skills, relationships, and business experience for future career success. This multi-semester experience provides meaningful work assignments, mentorship, and exposure to industry professionals. Participants earn university credit while receiving competitive pay and gaining hands-on experience supporting critical business functions. Specific projects and responsibilities may vary based on departmental needs and student interests.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO).
  • Pursuing a degree in Mathematics or a closely related quantitative discipline.
  • Sophomore, junior, or senior standing may be considered in accordance with university program requirements.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Demonstrated academic achievement, intellectual curiosity, and a willingness to learn.
  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
  • Reside in the Omaha, Nebraska area and work on-site at our corporate office.
  • Commit to participation for a minimum of two academic semesters and one summer term.
  • Work an average of 15 hours per week during academic semesters.
  • Work an average of 25 hours per week during the summer term.
  • Successfully meet all Cooperative Education program and university requirements.

  • Gain practical experience through meaningful project work and business assignments.
  • Partner with experienced professionals and leaders who will provide coaching and mentorship.
  • Develop analytical, problem-solving, communication, and professional skills.
  • Learn how business decisions are made and how various functions collaborate to achieve organizational goals.
  • Apply concepts learned in the classroom to real business opportunities and challenges.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives that create value for the department and organization.
  • Complete academic reporting and presentation requirements as part of the Cooperative Education Program.
