About The Position

Underwriting Assistant (Processing Center) for the Global Casualty, Centralized Operations Unit (COU) in Philadelphia, PA. This role provides superior policy servicing and underwriting support to the Global Casualty Major Complex business unit. The position involves completing registration and policy issuance activities, ensuring premiums are registered correctly, and communicating with branch offices to gather data and ensure accuracy of policy information. The Underwriting Assistant will identify and utilize appropriate systems and company forms/endorsements, maintain service standards, monitor work queue items, and identify and communicate system-related issues. Training and assistance will be provided as required. Specific duties include processing enrollments in ACEWrap within a 48-hour turnaround, following Home Office Underwriting Guidelines for subcontractor enrollments, filing correspondence correctly, reporting system issues, logging subcontractor endorsements, ensuring procedural compliance, supporting quality and performance through audits, and performing other assigned duties and special projects.

Requirements

  • Superior policy servicing and underwriting support skills.
  • Ability to complete registration and policy issuance activities, including post bind transactions, timely and accurately.
  • Proficiency in ensuring premiums are registered correctly and accurately reflected in the department tracking system.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with branch offices to gather data and ensure policy information accuracy.
  • Skill in identifying and utilizing appropriate systems and company forms/endorsements.
  • Ability to maintain/exceed service standards in production, service, support, and customer service/job approach.
  • Capability to monitor work queue items and take appropriate action for timely processing.
  • Ability to identify and communicate system-related issues.
  • Willingness to provide training and assistance as required.
  • Ability to process enrollments in ACEWrap public folder within a 48-hour turnaround.
  • Knowledge of Home Office Underwriting Guidelines for subcontractor enrollments.
  • Ability to file all correspondence in the correct Wrap Up Account folder.
  • Skill in reporting system issues to management or appropriate parties.
  • Accuracy in logging subcontractor endorsements and comp filing for processing broker requests.
  • Adherence to procedural compliance; no deviation from documented procedures without manager approval.
  • Ability to support quality and performance through audits, reviews, and feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and communicate system related issues to appropriate areas.
  • Provide training and assistance as required.
  • Process enrollments in ACEWrap public folder within a 48-hour turnaround.
  • Follow Home Office Underwriting Guidelines for subcontractor enrollments.
  • File all correspondence in the correct Wrap Up Account folder.
  • Report system issues (ACEWrap, Outlook, COU Tracking, WCS) to management or appropriate parties.
  • Accurately log subcontractor endorsements, comp filing for processing broker request.
  • Ensure procedural compliance; do not deviate from documented procedures without manager approval.
  • Support quality and performance through audits, reviews, and feedback.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
