This hybrid role involves supporting and managing workflows between Underwriting and Operations, handling the full lifecycle of an account, including new business, renewals, and servicing.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, some college is preferred.
  • A minimum of years of experience in a related field, P&C industry experience, experience with Excess Casualty Lines experience.
  • Must be positive, self-motivated, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly customer-centric both internally and externally.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong collaborative skills in a fast-paced team-centric environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to work a Hybrid working model.

Responsibilities

  • Support all steps of the underwriting process in conjunction with the underwriting operations function.
  • Liaise with Underwriters, Brokers and Reinsurers as needed to communicate account status and complete outstanding subjectivities.
  • Liaise with Underwriters to confirm policy issuance instructions for policies, endorsements, forms, notices, certificates, etc. and effectively complete coding/issuance.
  • Assist with new and renewal business life cycle work such as submission preparation, rating, referral prep, quoting, binding all the way through to policy issuance and endorsements within assigned authority.
  • Work with internal operations partners to ensure that service standards are being met.
  • Ensuring all parts of the Underwriting workflow are completed both accurately and on time.
  • Assist underwriters processing new business submissions and rating sheets.
  • Assist with other projects supporting the Underwriting team as required.
  • Assists with on-boarding of new hires and/or acts a mentor for Underwriting Assistant colleagues.
