About The Position

Starr is hiring an Underwriting Assistant to support underwriters in servicing new and existing Builders Risk accounts. The role includes booking accounts; preparing endorsements and binders; evaluating new and renewal policies and endorsements; and preparing and issuing manuscript policies. The assistant also services accounts by addressing agents’ inquiries, complaints, and requests, and handling policy processing in accordance with guidelines. The role gathers and organizes specified information and reports to support underwriting decisions. For individuals assigned or hired to work in California, the estimated compensation range is $65,000–$80,000. Certain criminal convictions may have an adverse relationship to the insurance-underwriting responsibilities and could result in withdrawal of a conditional offer.

Requirements

Strong portfolio management and production skills, with an understanding of the company’s business objectives.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities
