The Hartford•Alpharetta, GA
•$48,071 - $72,107•Hybrid

About The Position

The Underwriting Analyst supports Underwriters serving Regional Accounts (1,000–4,999 lives) and National Accounts (5,000+ lives). The role supports pre-sales, renewals, plan changes, and customer experience reporting by reviewing account information, interpreting benefit contracts and plan designs, developing ratings, and helping ensure accurate, timely underwriting work. For pre-sales, the analyst reviews RFP submissions and census data for completeness and accuracy, requests missing information from the Underwriter, and interprets group life, long-term disability, short-term disability, accidental death and dismemberment, accident, and critical illness contracts or booklets. The analyst creates ratings based on in-force plan design to develop manual rates, identifies discrepancies, and may propose alternate plan designs to closely match the existing designs. For renewals, plan changes, and reporting, the analyst works with the Underwriter to clarify outstanding questions and review proposed plan designs. The role reviews census data and experience information, applies plan changes, enters required data into pricing tools to develop formula rates, troubleshoots discrepancies, summarizes renewal information, identifies concerns, and makes recommendations to the Underwriter. The analyst is expected to meet the stated rating-accuracy targets and due dates. This is a hybrid role requiring work in an office in Hartford, Connecticut; Alpharetta, Georgia; or Lake Mary, Florida, three days per week, Tuesday through Thursday.
