About The Position

The Amwins Underwriter L.A.U.N.C.H. Program (Leadership, Aptitude, Underwriting Principles, Networking, Culture, Hands on) is an intensive nine-week education and training program hosted by the Amwins Underwriting division. Participants learn about the insurance industry, underwriting practices, and the Amwins organization; develop professional skills; and network across the organization. The program includes targeted insurance and program-insurance education, case studies and knowledge checks, system training, presentations, professional development, interaction with Amwins leadership, exposure to the Group Support Team and home office, and continued education to complement on-the-job duties. Training takes place in Charlotte, North Carolina, where housing is provided for the nine-week program. After training, participants relocate to Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, and may travel to Charlotte or other Amwins offices up to twice a year for additional training over the next few years. After completing the program, the participant moves into an entry-level underwriting support role with Amwins Program Underwriters (APU), a managing general agency specializing in affinity and program management. APU develops and maintains insurance programs for niche markets and manages more than 40 programs.
