Underwriter - Physicians & Surgeons (Northeast)
About The Position
MedPro Group is hiring an Underwriter to support its Physicians & Surgeons business in the Northeast. The role assists other underwriters in managing a book of physician business, maintaining client and distribution partner relationships, and supporting retention and new business flow. The underwriter analyzes physician risks and develops appropriate underwriting solutions, pricing, and coverage structures, with a focus on profitability and guidance from the Team Trainer and other underwriters. The position requires timely, client-focused service, adherence to underwriting authority and escalation requirements, and communication with internal teams including sales, claims, PR, and RM.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong internal and external communication, analytical, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- Strong PC skills.
- Some experience with physicians and surgeons, ancillary providers, or non-hospital facilities.
- Ability to maintain strong relationships with distribution partners.
- Ability to provide timely and appropriate account management while achieving compliance requirements.
- At least 1 year of experience underwriting physician exposures.

- RPLU, CPCU, or IIA designation.
Responsibilities
- Assist other underwriters with their book of physician business to maintain and enhance client and distribution partner relationships, retention, and new business flow.
- Underwrite and analyze physician risks and offer appropriate underwriting solutions focused on profitability.
- Provide appropriate pricing and coverage structure using available information and within timely turnaround periods.
- Communicate effectively with internal team members and meet MedPro Group's client-focus standards.
- Analyze risks, including evaluating coverage and the terms and conditions of offers, to determine appropriate structure and pricing with guidance from the Team Trainer and other underwriters.
- Work within underwriting authority and follow company escalation requirements.
- Maintain communication with internal team members, including sales, claims, PR, and RM.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
