About The Position

Foundation Risk Partners (FRP), a rapidly growing insurance brokerage and consulting firm in the US, is seeking an Underwriter to join their Apartment Insurance Consultants team in Austin, TX. The Underwriter will report directly to the Director of Underwriting and will be responsible for providing technical expertise, support, and service while collaborating daily with the Account Management team.

Requirements

3+ years of Property & Casualty underwriting experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, risk assessment, and underwriting principles.
Professional insurance designations (e.g., CPCU, AU, CIC, ARM, or similar) preferred.
Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field preferred.
Well-versed in insurance coverages, policy language, and underwriting guidelines.
Strong work ethic with exceptional attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

Review carrier renewals and maintain carrier relationships and communications.
Gather account and historical data; prepare and distribute Requests for Proposal (RFPs).
Review carrier proposals for accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness.
Maintain knowledge of current insurance market trends, conditions, competitive intelligence, and product and service innovations.
Interact collaboratively and professionally with colleagues, clients, carriers, and business partners.
Perform other duties assigned, including but not limited to underwriting, quoting, account servicing, claims support, inspection ordering and review, and loss control recommendations.
