About The Position

The Underwriter assists with daily underwriting and provides production underwriters with information needed to make sound underwriting decisions. The role supports production underwriters in line with established standards and priorities that address marketing, underwriting, retention, and service goals. It ensures related support activities are delivered consistently with the business unit’s customer-service focus. The position also conducts business and customer due diligence, works toward team production and loss-ratio goals, maintains effective relationships with agents and insureds, and researches best practices for new programs, forms, and manuals. Other duties may be assigned or required. The listed duties are representative; incumbents may also perform other job-related tasks.

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills with management, employees, and outside parties.
• Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
