About The Position

As an Underwriter at Splitero, you will make risk assessment decisions on applications for the company's Home Equity Investment (HEI) product, an alternative to traditional financing with no income requirements or monthly payments. You will analyze risk factors against underwriting guidelines, policies, and procedures, and partner with the Processing team and homeowners to move files toward closing. You will own your pipeline from initial review through final approval, maintain a consistent daily review cadence, and meet quality standards measured through regular QA reviews. You will determine and explain purposeful, proportionate, and defensible file conditions; review property title, appraisals, loan modifications, and trust documentation; and confirm that all conditions are met before funding. The target start date is November 16 or November 30 (year not specified). The position is remote until January 2027, after which it is hybrid and based in the San Diego office. Onsite work is required Tuesday through Thursday, with remote work optional on Mondays and Fridays. The salary range is $90,000–$110,000 per year, with individual pay determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
