Underwriter II, Specialty Lines - Cross Border

We’re looking for an Underwriter II, Specialty Solutions, to join our growing Cross Border team!
Requirements
- University degree/College diploma or any combination of equivalent education and experience
- Minimum 2 years of relevant commercial line underwriting experience.
- Strong knowledge in Excel is an asset
- Analytical, self-motivated and strive to deliver at a high standard
- Initiative and ability to work under pressure
- Strong team player, with outstanding collaboration and communication skills
- Can develop and maintain excellent relationships with brokers
- Interested in and stay up to date on business trends or other developments impacting our industry
- No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in P&C, Auto and Equipment Breakdown preferred
- CIP designation or working towards it
Responsibilities
- Analyze requests for quotes, renewals and policy changes, and recommend solutions
- Support brokers regarding underwriting and rating policies
- Use negotiating skills to maintain healthy relationships within and outside the company
- Participate in broker visits, industry functions and marketing events
- Provide ongoing support in expanding the department, and make recommendations for process improvements
- Rate and prepare quotes for new business and renewals
- Handle policy transactions including renewals, endorsements and cancellations.
- As directed, generate letters and memos to brokers from the system.
- Support team members within Specialty Solutions as well as other divisions at Intact
