About The Position

Bass Underwriters is seeking an Underwriter Assistant to support an Underwriter by reviewing applications, evaluating risk, creating quotes, and processing new and renewal business. The role offers exposure to risk analysis and relationship-building, with direct mentorship from an Underwriter. No insurance experience is required; Bass Underwriters will provide tools and mentorship to support success. The position is based in Melville, New York, and offers a starting salary of $66,300 per year plus bonus opportunities.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree; Business, Finance, Economics, Risk Management and Insurance, or another related major or experience is preferred.
• Strong customer orientation and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong problem analysis and resolution skills.
• Ability to prioritize and respond to complex issues.
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to navigate various websites and databases.
• Highly motivated, with a positive, outgoing personality and an entrepreneurial spirit.
• A service mentality and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves
