Underwriter Assistant, Professional Liability - Healthcare

The Underwriting Assistant, Professional Liability - Healthcare will support and manage workflows between Underwriting and Operations, handling the full lifecycle of an account, including new business, renewals, and servicing.
Requirements
- High School diploma, some college is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field, P&C industry experience, experience with Professional Liability experience.
- Must be positive, self-motivated, and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Highly customer-centric both internally and externally.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to travel up to 3 times annually for internal team events.
- Strong collaborative skills in a fast-paced team-centric environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities
- Support all steps of the underwriting process in conjunction with the underwriting operations function.
- Liaise with Underwriters, Brokers and Reinsurers as needed to communicate account status and complete outstanding subjectivities.
- Liaise with Underwriters to confirm policy issuance instructions for policies, endorsements, forms, notices, certificates, etc. and effectively complete coding/issuance.
- Assist with new and renewal business life cycle work such as submission preparation, rating, referral prep, quoting, binding all the way through to policy issuance and endorsements within assigned authority.
- Work with internal operations partners to ensure that service standards are met.
- Ensuring all parts of the Underwriting workflow are completed both accurately and on time.
- Assist underwriters processing new business submissions and rating sheets.
- Assist with other projects supporting the Underwriting team as required.
