About The Position

J&A Heating, Cooling, Plumbing, and Electrical is looking for a motivated Underground Plumbing Helper to support our underground plumbing team. This role is ideal for someone who is mechanically inclined, dependable, and ready to learn from experienced professionals. The position involves assisting lead technicians with the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground residential plumbing systems, including water and sewer lines. Responsibilities include job site support such as digging, trenching, material handling, tool setup, and cleanup, as well as gaining hands-on experience with underground plumbing systems, tools, and materials. The role also requires team collaboration, maintaining a professional presence on customer job sites, and a willingness to perform physically demanding work in outdoor conditions.

Requirements

Willingness to perform physically demanding work in outdoor conditions
Strong work ethic, reliability, and eagerness to learn
Ability to follow directions and safety procedures
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

Interest in plumbing or prior construction/trade experience preferred
Familiarity with tools or basic mechanical skills is a plus

Responsibilities

Assist lead technicians with the installation, repair, and maintenance of underground residential plumbing systems, including water and sewer lines.
Help with digging, trenching, material handling, tool setup, and cleanup to ensure jobs are completed safely and efficiently.
Gain hands-on experience working with underground plumbing systems, tools, and materials while learning proper techniques and code requirements.
Work closely with lead technicians and other team members to complete projects on time and to quality standards.
Maintain a professional and courteous presence when on customer job sites.
